Good afternoon all
On behalf of F2 Zone Council I want to thank everyone who attended the Drumhead Ceremony on September 24 at the Cobourg Cenotaph.
The weather was perfect and everything went smoothly.
I want to acknowledge the Zone/Cobourg Branch organization committee that worked hard for several weeks to pull this together. A job well done.
The Sgt-at-Arms at all levels, are the main backbone of this type of event. Zone F2 Sgt-at-Arms Gary Rodrigue with all the Branch Sgt-at-Arms, did an excellent job on this ceremony.
The Cobourg Pipes and Drums have always performed the “Piling of the Drums” Ceremony perfectly with the Bulger, Chris Devlin, from the Cobourg Concert Band.
With our guests Councilor Adam Bureau from the Town Of Cobourg and our special Guest, Major General (ret’d) Scott Clancy, it added a local personal touch to the Ceremony.
Also wish to thank District F Commander, Greg Kobold, and his council.
There were so many people involved with this event that all need to be thanked.
I also wish to acknowledge Comrade Doreen Doucet, who was a flag bearer in the Bewdley Br 577 Colour Party. Doreen is a veteran and on her last birthday she is 93 years young. Thank you Doreen for your service. (photo attached)
I look forward to next year’s Drumhead, as it is noted that Zone F2 is the only Zone in Ontario that is carrying on this important tradition.
Yours in Comradeship.
